| The Electric Dolphin is built with a durable fiberglass body, lid and battery box, all locked together with polyurethane floatation foam. The 82 lb thrust motor in the Electric Dolphin produces approximately 50 lbs. of thrust with a high strength plastic prop. The prop case is made of aluminum rings and laced with 1/8" nylon cord. Two sealed 12 volt gel-cell batteries fit into the sealed battery box to produce 24 volts.
The Electric Dolphin propels a person through the water hands-free with very little effort, this in turn greatly reduces oxygen consumption.
With your feet on the foot pads and cushioned at the ankle and top of the foot, the Electric Dolphin is a comfortable fit Although there has been many hours logged and many miles run on the Electric Dolphin, we are hesitant to list a specific speed, thrust and run time since users are all different sizes and shapes.
The speed of the Electric Dolphin is always varying in relation to the size, shape and ability of the user. With newer, more efficient batteries, and props with different size and pitch, we will continue our effort to make it more powerful.
We are not recommending the Electric Dolphin for deep water diving due to safety issues. We recommend a maximum depth of 30 ft. If depths greater that 30 ft are required, special arrangements may be made.
